2019
THE BEGINNING
At a friend's birthday celebration, our founder was handed a cup of a warm, rich drink. That first bitter sip was more than enough to inspire finishing the cup "I felt euphoria and bliss unlike anything I had ever experienced." That single cup sparked a deeper exploration into cacao's origins, its benefits, and why so few people knew about it.
2020
COKO LOUNGE IS BORN
We opened New Zealand's first dedicated cacao lounge, Coko Lounge our flagship café in Dunedin, New Zealand. Developing our signature Cacao Elixers free from refined sugar and unhealthy additives.
2022
WORLD FAMOUS IN NEW ZEALAND
CoKo Lounge expanded into cafés, delis, and airport duty-free stores across New Zealand. Becoming a regular fixture at the Otago Farmers Market, the South Island's favourite, and the perfect place to introduce people to raw cacao, one cup at a time.
2023
THE COKO POD
After closing the doors to our Dunedin café during the pandemic, we shifted our focus to our growing international and wholesale customers. The CoKo Pod was born in a changing hospitality environment, agility and flexibility allowed us to continue bring the CoKo Lounge experience throughout New Zealand.
2024
GLOBAL RECOGNITION
As demand in Europe and Southeast Asia for our products expand, we begin developing our raw cacao value chain in Samoa. Keeping with our ethos of respect for traditional cultivation practices and knowledge, paired with best practice processing to bring the finest bioactive products to growing markets.

WAIHEKE ISLAND
Now based on Waiheke Island, we continue to grow and redefine the cacao industry within New Zealand. From a single café to a mission that spans artisan health stores, cafés, delis, and international markets. We share the transformative power of ceremonial cacao, bringing the future of superfood goodness to NZ and beyond. Because bliss begins the moment you choose it.
